- Ward's many years of experience has allowed the company to develop a broad product line of industrial equipment primarily geared to the bulk material handling and specialized air cleaning solutions.
- Ward specializes in the design and engineering of industrial equipment systems.
- As a manufacturer, Ward has provided and sold industrial equipment to the following industries: Foundry, Aggregate, Asphalt, Cement, Mining, Diecast, Recycling, Processing as well as many others.
- Ward became a subsidiary of the public company Empire Industries Ltd. (EIL) listed in the Toronto Stock Index.
MICHAEL DETENBECK, M.ENG89, BScME76, P. Eng
- Title: Vice President & General Manager
- Michael has over 28 years experience in manufacturing and steel fabrication. He has been a general manager for 19 years, 5 of them with Ward. Michael brings extensive engineering experience with marine and steel making bulk materials handling equipment, including systems for unloading coal, iron ore, mill scale and aggregates.
- Michael is a recognized International Welding Engineer. He received his education, first at the University of New Brunswick, and later at the University of Toronto.
RICHARD CHRISTOPHER, ME Tech 85
- Title: Project Manager
- Richard has over 21 years experience in design of bulk material handling equipment.
- Utilizing the most recent computer software Richard designs and manages a large amount of Ward’s dependable bulk material handling products.
- Richard received his education at Niagara College in Welland, ON.
SID HOPKINS
- Title: Operations Manager
- Sid is responsible for production at Ward to ensure the engineering information and fabrication methods match. Sid is also in charge of sales of the general fabrication, field services and plant maintenance division. Sid brings over 25 years of experience working in the structural steel industry and for the past 6 years has directed his efforts in supplying and installing medium to large fabrications in the immediate area, taking on problem projects for area manufactures and coming up with economical and workable solutions.
- Sid is a recognized Welding Supervisor by the Canadian Welding Bureau.
BOB BECK, ME Tech 81
- Title: Senior Project Manager
- Bob has been employed at Ward for over 26 years, and has held positions in every aspect of running this business. Bob is the "go-to" guy for many of the more difficult problems that you, as a customer may face. Specializing in material transfer using air or vacuum as the motive force, he brings a level of sophistication to these projects that are hard to come by elsewhere. As a well rounded individual, Bob also has expertise in most of the many products that Ward manufactures, including vibrating equipment, foundry equipment and most of the systems designs that Ward has been part of.
- Richard received his education at Niagara College in Welland, ON.
TONYA RICKER
- Title: Purchasing Agent
- Tonya is responsible for parts sales at Ward and purchasing materials and components for our project management team. Tonya has been with Ward for over 9 years in various administration duties. Tonya has an excellent knowledge in freight and delivery issues, and gives you the parts service you need and expect to keep your bulk material handling equipment running.
- Tonya holds a diploma as an Office Administration Executive from Niagara College.
DEBBIE GULLETT
- Title: Administration
- Debbie has worked in the office at Ward for over 13 years as an accounts administrator. Her expertise in customs documentation, and contract document administration and accounts management will get your paperwork processed quickly and efficiently.
JIM ISBESTER
- Title: Shop Superintendent
- Jim has been directing fabricating shops for over 21 years, and prior to that was a skilled fabricator for 10 years. Jim is experienced in all aspects of fabrication and welding and is recognized by the Canadian Welding Bureau as an approved Welding Supervisor.
- Jim also brings maintenance and repair knowledge of conveying equipment as used in the marine, steel making and aggregate businesses.
ROB HARDY, ME Tech 05
- Title: Technical Sales
- Rob has been employed at Ward for over 14 years, first as a Certified General Machinist (8 years) and currently, as part of our sales/engineering team. Rob's education, experience and enthusiasm support Ward's valued customers with accurate and timely assistance.
- Richard received his education at Niagara College in Welland, ON.
- Ward Industrial equipment is dedicated to working safe. Not only do we think safety every day, we design with safety in mind. When you purchase bulk material equipment from us, we provide an equipment functional safety review with the equipment so your health and safety committee has the safety design information they need to carry out their proper Pre-start Safety Review for your new process. Our fabrication facility follows the Empire Industries Safety Policies and maintains our health and safety programs to meet or exceed the Federal and Provincial regulations. The General Fabrication and Maintenance Division maintains the field service portion of our Safety Program to ensure that they are in compliance with your plant requirements along with all of the applicable legislative requirements.
- When you purchase bulk material handling equipment from Ward Industrial Equipment Ltd., we provide an Equipment Functional Safety Review with the equipment. This provides your health and safety committee with the design information they need in order to carry out their proper Pre-start Safety Review for your new process.
- Our fabrication facility follows the Empire Industries Safety Policies and maintains our health and safety programs to meet or exceed the Federal and Provincial regulations.
