Heavy Duty Apron and Pan Conveyors
Heavy duty apron conveyors are available in either a conveying design or a feeder design. The main difference is a fixed drive ratio set up and loading chutes for conveying, or a variable speed drive and feed chutes for apron feeders.
- This is another very durable unit engineered and produced by Ward Industrial Equipment for bulk materials handling applications. The Heavy Duty Apron Conveyor is available in widths ranging from 24" to 60" (24", 30", 36", 42", 48", 54" and 60").
- Ward Heavy Duty Apron conveyors are designed for installation under storage bins to control the flow of materials. The leak-proof apron design prevents spillage of materials.
- Drive: Standard drives consist of T.E.F.C. Motor, V-Belt Drive, Worm Gear Reducer and Roller Chain Drive to the Drive Shaft. Each unit is supplied with the required guards.
- Aprons, Chains and Attachments: The leak-proof apron design allows this unit to handle most bulk materials including hot castings on inclines of up to 25 degrees. Pans are normal supplied in 3/8" or 1/2" thickness in steel plate.
- The steel aprons are mounted on 2 strands of 9" pitch steel chain. Ductile iron rollers and hardened bushings are attached to the chains by 7/8" diameter thru rods.
- Shaft Assembles: These assemblies consist of alloy steel shafting mounted on Roller Bearing equipped Pillow Blocks. Hardened 8 Tooth Steel Sprockets, are mounted on the Drive and Tail Shaft.
- Support Frame: All units are mounted on a heavy duty braced steel frame with apron assemblies that run on Angle Tracks fitted with replaceable wear bars.
- Head Drive: The drive is protected from damaging overloads with shear pin hubs or torque limiting devices depending on the application.
- Tail Take-ups: A heavy duty set of screw take-ups are supplied as standard, with options available for hydraulic take-ups.
