Vibrating Screens
- Ward Vibrating Screens are available in models ranging from 3' x 6' to 10' x 30' in single, double or triple deck configurations. Suspension or base mounting is employed depending on the intended application. The five models of screens incorporate 80, 100, 120, 130 and 160 mm. bearings. All units are designed to provide a minimum bearing life of 10,000 hours. The Ward engineering group possesses many years of experience in the design of high performance vibrating screens. The models described in this brochure are designed to be rugged, dependable, economical and easy to maintain and service. They operate on the "Two Bearing Circular Throw" principle which is a very versatile type of screen. Variations in stroke, speed, slope and rotation can all be made to provide a combination that will ensure the most efficient sizing of the product. The screen is supported on springs at each corned of the machine which allows it to move in a vertical circular motion known as "free floating". The circular motion in conjunction with gravity produces a rate of travel of material over the screen surface. This rate of travel is controlled by the stroke, speed and angle of inclination of the screen. Normally, the greater tonnage being processed, the greater the angle of inclination. Screens are operated with counterflow rotation which gives the greater material retention time on the deck than flow-rotation. Please contact a Ward representative for the appropriate speed, stroke and angle necessary for your project.
- In commercial screening, two fundamental processes take place: "Stratification" - the phenomena whereby the larger size particles rise to the top of the bed of materials being shaken, and the smaller size particles shift through to the bottom of the bed, and "Separation" - the process of particles presenting themselves to the opening in the screen cloth and being rejected if larger, and passing through, if smaller than the opening size. The Ward Two Bearing Screen consists of a body which is attached to screen decks and a vibrator which is the heart of the screen. The vibrator incorporates a heavy shaft with unbalanced weights at each end that produce the exiting force which, when it revolves, produces an equal and opposite force resulting in the circular motion.
- Oversize bearings are used together with multiple labyrinth grease seals to produce maximum bearing life. Springs are made from the highest quality materials. They are available in four standard sizes from inventory maintained by Ward at all times. Modular design and the use of standard components result in savings to the customer and readily available spare parts.
- Optional Accessories:
- Damper assemblies - can be provided at extra cost to reduce "start/stop bounce" if this is a considered problem
- Plate decks - with optional skid bars in AR or Manganese Steel can be provided.
- Electrically heated decks - Keeps material from freezing and can be furnished.
- Special decks - including grizzly decks, stepped decks, ball-tray decks, expansion decks, and others.
- Enclosures - keeps dust inside the equipment and enclosures can be provided.
- Drive Guards - keeps operators safe.
Horizontal Vibrating Screens & Dewatering Screens
- 5 Models: 2VS - 80, 100, 120, 140 & 160mm)
- Ward Horizontal Vibrating Screens are available in models ranging from 3' x 12' to 8' x 24' in single, double and triple deck configurations. Suspension or base mounting is employed depending on the intended application. The five models of screens incorporate twin vibrators with 80, 100, 120, 140 or 160mm bearings. All units are designed to provide a minimum bearing life of 15,000 hours. The Ward engineering group possesses many years of experience in the design of high performance vibrating screens. The models described in this brochure are designed to be rugged, dependable, economical and easy to maintain and service. They operate on the Twin Vibrator Two Bearing principle which produces a straight line stroke on the required line of action. Variations in stroke and speed can be made to provide a combination that will ensure the most efficient sizing of the product. The screen is supported on springs at each corned of the machine which allows it to move in a vertical circular motion known as "free floating". The circular motion in conjunction with gravity produces a rate of travel of material over the screen surface. - Construction Details
- Side Plates
- Heavy 44W steel is used for construction for the side plates which are drilled in pairs to ensure accurate alignment on assembly.
- Screen Support Frame
- Steel support frames are jig built from heavy side angles with tubular HSS cross members and heavy flat bar screen supports, which are fitted with molded rubber cap strips to provide a soft support for the screen cloth to reduce wear.
- Springs
- Springs are made from the highest quality materials. They are available from inventory maintained by Ward at all times.
- Screen Cloth
- Single arched screen panels of equal length are provided to allow interchangeability and replacement of individual worn sections as required.
- Skirt Boards
- Skirt boards are heavy formed 44W plate fitted with tension bolts, which engage the hooked edges of the screen cloth panels and hold the cloth at the correct tension.
- High Strength Bolts
- High strength bolts in conjunction with vibration proof nylon lock nuts are used exclusively on Ward Vibrating Equipment.
