For dense scrap, a lugger truck can provide a greater payload than a roll off truck, due to differences in weight distribution.  The lugger truck gets enough weight forward that it can safely have a larger payload.

The sliding lugger delivers the best performance of all.  Once the load is lifted, the truck body slides forward on rails giving superior weight distribution and a higher payload.
